I am so guilty of this. Only it's Facebook and email. Fortunately, I have a good friend who I meet every other Tuesday. We have tea at my house, catch up, and pray just before she leaves. She lives a 30 minute drive away and we would never be able to be this close without this commitment to every other Tuesday. It's so easy today to substitute online connections for the real thing, when they aren't an adequate substitute for face-to-face intimacy.
